Because I had to write an essay this weekend, I went a bit mad with my camera (go figure). I just thot I'd post some of my photos for the fun of it!

And, just to prove I have a colour camera...

I didn't want to make a big deal of this...but...I'M 21 NOW!!!! As of last thursday I became a proper grown up. Just don't expect miracles where maturity is concerned. ;)

I went out for dinner on Friday night with my family to Tony Romas. The food was amazing, I even tried a rib and it was nice! But the cheesecake...ooh it was to die for, but please don't, cos I love you people really! Here's some pictures, I'm afraid you'll have to be content with looking at me, because noone else would let me put the pictures on the web!!

At dinner

I thought this was really artistic - fanta orange and soda and lime.

Yet again I'm up late doing work. This is not because my work has taken me extra-long to do (although at the rate i'm going it will) but because at 11oclock this morning i went to shop for a new top for the spring concert on Thursday nite and didn't get home till 5, then it took me the usual 4 hours to get started (if i was home at 12 that would have been 4 oclock ...) so here I am. I actually think i'm going to leave the assignment now for a bit and do all the other bits and pieces so ALL I have to do is juggle assignment and Cinderella practices. So right now I'm away to make a crown. Starting to be glad I'm Prince Charming now as my costume requires a lot less work than, for example, the ugly stepsisters.

Hairy Hightown

My fear of the Hightown is completely rational, see here for why...

Right this is the part where I tell you what's been happening in my life recently. I haven't been writing much about that for a while, because, well my life's been really boring and I wouldn't want to subject you to that, I also haven't got LeeAnne's knack of making the mundane sound really interesting!! But I haven't been that boring this week so I'll tell you about it.

For one of my modules this semester we have to put on a short play that could be performed by Key Stage One pupils (that's P1-P3 for all of you not in the know!!) Our group consists of me, jenny f, joanna, julie, jenny k, and steph so we hadn't really much of a chance from the start of being motivated enough to work until the last minute. But we did have enough randomness to make a very interesting play. We decided very early on what we were doing, so make way for the ALL singing, ALL Dancing, VERY Artistic and RHYMING CiNdErElLa!! I'm now very excited. Two days ago all we had was a script for rhyming Cinderella off the internet, and we had decided who was who etc (by the way I'm Prince Charming, not sure how I'm going to pull off the macho look, but we'll see...) but since then everything has just fallen into place and we have a whole play with lots of dances and songs and (a few overenthusiastic [in a good way] ugly sisters, a pair of most annoying blisters - jen and juls ;-) ) So anyway, we all decided yesterday afternoon that we'd go to Jenny F's about 9 to make some props and practise. Surprise surprise EVERYONE was free (which is very rare in our group). Bear in mind this was very last minute and inbetween I had to be in stran until 4 then do 4 hours work and manage to feed myself into the bargain. Anyway I got there about 9.30 with some gravy chips, Jenny was also in the middle of cooking delicious naan bread pizzas and we got the whole thing almost sorted. So we decided to keep working on and just stay over at Jenny's (with no pjs, no clean clothes, no anything in fact i slept in the same clothes I wore for the first half of today - hate that like!) You're probably getting bored by now so I'll take a new paragraph.

Result: I think i had at the most 3 hours of sleep on a settee. Interesting event from the night - driving over the Hightown road in the fog at midnight. Especially on the way back as the guy in front was driving really slowly and at the start of the road kept turning back and looking at us. This was really spooky as you can guess and it got even worse when we got into REALLY REALLY thick fog......which turned out to be smoke.......anyway, it turns out the guy wasn't trying to be freaky but just didn't know the hightown, at least we assumed that because we're still alive!

Today I went down to Claire's wee school to play piano for them. I love that school, there's only 3 teachers and one of them's the principal and everything's just so informal. If I ever get a job i want to work in a school like that.

I Won A Photography Competition Once

I think this picture is genius (if I do say so myself)!! You won't really understand the true genius until i explain what it is. It is a picture of the sea taken through a drainage hole in the wall around the carpark opposite Ballygalley (is that how you spell it?) castle. You can imagine the way i had to sit to get that picture (the hole is at the bottom of the wall) but i just felt like doing it. The only thing I don't like is that there isn't enough sea (because I just couldn't lie down in the middle of a carpark) and the background isn't in focus. This is a question for any photography experts... I know that to focus on the object that's not the automatic focus of a picture, you point the camera at it, focus, and then move before taking the picture. But in the case above, would I have had to put the camera on the other side of the wall, focussed, and then brought it back to take the photo??
